DSP Systems vs ANN Ensembles for Motion Detection and Filtering

This paper presents a comparative study between digital signal processing (DSP) systems and artificial neural networks (ANN’s) for object motion detection and object extraction. The ANN’s are arranged as an ensemble to perform the motion detection and image subtraction function. The ANN system displays a superior performance over the DSP in terms of system complexity and image quality. Index terms artificial neural networks, digital signal processing, ensembles, filtering
